Cupcakes for Key Workers!

Cupcakes for Key Workers!

The past year has been a particularly challenging time for everyone. We have seen pubs and restaurants close, social distance from our friends and family and three national lockdowns. Behind the scenes, there has been incredible and constant effort from our key workers to keep us all safe and connected and for this we would like to say "Thank You"!

We wanted to show our appreciation for all of Ruislip Community’s heroes from all walks of life. This could be anyone – local shopkeepers, delivery drivers, postal workers, refuse collectors, emergency services and health care staff, teachers, community groups and volunteers, as well as friends, family, carers and neighbours. We thought what better way to show our appreciation than with everyone’s favourite food to eat – Cake! Because sometimes, all you need is cake!

Our hope was that each delivery would allow our wonderful key workers to have a minutes rest and relax with a cup of tea and a delicious cupcake.

Whilst delivering the cupcakes we were lucky enough to personally meet some of the local heroes and thank them for their hard work - We even got a brief tour of Ruislip Fire station, which was great!

Having lived in Ruislip our whole lives, we are proud of the community spirit that has been shown and the gratitude shared with those who have kept us going since March 2020. We firmly feel like we are all in this together and can get through it all with a little help from our neighbours.

The cakes were purchased from Honey Bees Cakes in Ruislip Manor to ensure that we support local business during this time.

Rental demand remains resilient in early 2026, but growth has moderated. For landlords, spring is less about reacting and more about refining strategy.

April is the final window for landlords in England to prepare for the first phase of the Renters’ Rights Act. With the new tenancy regime starting on 1 May 2026, now is the time to review paperwork, processes and whether self-management still feels realistic.

For tenants, April is a useful point to pause and plan. With rents still rising across the UK and the first phase of rental reform approaching in England, this is a good time to review your budget, renewal options and next move.

If you are thinking about moving in the next 6 to 12 months, a market appraisal is often the best first step. It gives you a clearer view of value, timing and buyer demand, helping you plan with more confidence in a competitive 2026 market.
