How has the housing market began in 2022?

The market has continued where it left off in 2021 with a lack of supply and significant demand for sales and lettings!

2021 was an amazing year for Gibson Honey with both sales and lettings experiencing record activity levels. The sales market was obviously helped by the stamp duty holiday and perhaps the general re-evaluation of people's lifestyles impacted both the sales and lettings market.

Towards the end of 2021 we noticed a lack of supply on both fronts and this has continued into 2022. The good news for both sellers and landlords is that demand is still extremely high with record numbers of buyers and tenants desperately searching for that elusive property. This is culminating in many record prices being set due to buyers and tenants willing to pay a premium to get the property they desire.

This looks set to continue for the foreseeable future. However, if an influx of property hits the market then this could change things, so if you are thinking of selling or letting your property, our advise is the sooner the better.
